Amongst other things, the 1960's brought us great sci-fi TV, micro-mini skirts, and my birth. As a young child, I moved a lot. Because of this, I became a letter writer to maintain friendships over the miles. To this day I have many friendships that began while I was still in single digit numbers, and I still delight in a handwritten letter. My writing took a stronger role in my life as I grew. I got my BFA in Theatre and Education and minored in English at (Southwest) Texas State University, and went on to write magazine articles in my 20's. At this time I was also performing in Texas as a mime and actress and teaching after school drama clubs. Actively working with youth gave me a feel for what they wanted to perform, and I began play writing for my classes. My husband encouraged me to submit some of my work for publication. Teaching and performing fueled my writing. I became a professional children's storyteller, and shortly thereafter, a mother. This focused my attention on early childhood development. During this time I helped to create elementary drama programs for Dallas ISD schools, became a Wolftrap Teaching Artist, and toured the Dallas area as a Teaching Artist. In addition to this, I taught part-time at a Catholic school and continued writing. Today, I continue to create interactive lesson plans and work with teachers and students in the classroom. I am actively writing on a few different projects, performing in the Dallas area and living with my husband and daughter in Garland, Texas.
